How to check battery status on iPhone

If your iPhone’s battery life isn’t as good as it used to be, it might be worth checking its battery health.

There is a tool built into iOS that lets you get an overview of your iPhone’s battery status. He will also advise you if you need to have it replaced.

Here’s how to check your iPhone’s battery status.

  • Go to the Battery Settings menu
  • Select battery status

    On the Battery screen, tap Battery health, which should be the second option under Low power mode.

    Check maximum capacity

    The highest setting in Battery Health is Max Capacity. This tells you the amount of original battery capacity, which in turn tells you how much your battery has gone down. The closer to 100% the better.

    Check the warnings

    Battery Health will notify you if your battery capacity has dropped to such a low level that you should install a new one. If so, you will receive an important battery message at the top of this battery status section advising you to have your phone repaired by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Is it normal for my maximum capacity to drop?

Yes, your iPhone battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity after 500 full charge cycles, assuming normal operation. It will probably drop 100% after a year or two.

Why does Battery Health tell me that battery management is applied?
