New Delhi: Garmin has announced a new fitness tracker in its popular Vivosmart series called Garmin Vivosmart 5. The fifth generation Vivosmart tracker comes with a higher price tag, improved display, accessibility, and more. However, the premium Garmin fitness band offers a well-designed user interface, advanced sleep features, lightweight design, and automatic tracking.

The Garmin Vivosmart 5 is priced at Rs 14,990 and the smart fitness tracker will go on sale via Garmin Brand Store, Amazon, Flipkart and synergizer from June 10. The Vivosmart 5 will be available in mint and black color options.

The Garmin Vivosmart 5 has a comfortable design and an easy-to-read display. The band is available in small, medium and large sizes. Compared to the last generation, this offers 66% more screen real estate with larger text and an easy-to-use touchscreen. It also comes with a physical button under the screen.
In terms of health-centric features, the band offers at-a-glance health stats for Pulse Ox, 24/7 heart rate monitoring, body battery energy monitoring , all-day stress tracking and more. Apart from these advanced trackers, it can also track basics like steps, distance, calories burned, etc. The smart band also comes with a variety of built-in sports apps for activities like walking, pool swimming, cycling, yoga, cardio and more. It gives a personalized morning report which includes useful information such as sleep score, step goals, etc.
The band is also capable of delivering smart notifications such as calendar reminders, text messages, social media alerts, and security features that can be triggered at the touch of a button. On a single charge, the band is designed to last up to 7 days. The bands are interchangeable and they are made of silicone material. Plus, the bands are swim and shower proof.
Other health-related features include abnormal high and low heart rate alerts, advanced sleep with a sleep score that gives an analysis of both the quantity and quality of their sleep, attribution of a score based on time spent in sleep stages, amount of movement, stress levels and more. There’s no on-board GPS here, which means you’ll have to use smartphone GPS to accurately track distance, pace, and speed on outdoor walks, runs, and bike rides.
